Mark Beretta OAM
Inspiring Australians through story-telling and purpose-driven impact.

Hi there!
I’m Mark Beretta OAM, although most people just know me as 'Beretts', and for more than three decades I’ve had the privilege of working at the forefront of Australian sport and news broadcasting. I got to spend 22 years as the Sports Presenter and at times co-host on Channel 7’s 'Sunrise' breakfast TV show, covering 13 Olympic Summer and Winter Games, various World Championships, major sporting events, including the Bathurst 1000, AFL Grand Finals, Australian Open Tennis, Commonwealth Games, cycling's Tour Downunder, Supercars, and the stories that have inspired and entertained Australians.
Most recently, as a former athlete, I’ve taken on an exciting new challenge as Chair of the International Waterski & Wakeboard Federation’s Brisbane 2032 Olympic Bid Committee, leading the push to see my beloved sport of waterskiing and wakeboarding included on the world's greatest sporting stage at the Olympic Games.
Alongside broadcasting work, 18 years ago I became involved with the Tour de Cure cancer charity and have ridden the annual Signature Tour each year since. The rides are tough and normally about 1,500km over 10 days, but the best part is we've been able to fund 251 breakthroughs in cancer research. I've been on the Tour de Cure Board for 17 years. I'm also proud to be an ambassador for The Raise Foundation, Butterfly Foundation, Ninja's Trust, Run Army, Run Port Douglas and Defence Kidz.
Away from sport and cameras, I have a very different role as a Major in the Australian Army (Reserve). It's a hugely rewarding part of my life, and I get to work some brilliant Australians serving our nation across the country and around the world.
Speaking
Energy, insight and authenticity is what I aim to bring to every speaking stage. Drawing on more than three decades in broadcasting, sport and live events, I comfortably MC major events, present a keynote or after dinner speech or a cosy fireside chat, aimed to lift the room, challenge thinking, and hopefully inspire, engage and connect. I speak about leadership, resilience, high performance, purpose and community — sharing stories and lessons from elite sport, global events, and life’s challenges. I've been fortunate to work on a wide range of events, from country race days to Buckingham Palace, and I'm pretty sure everywhere in-between!

With more than 35 years telling stories across television, radio, documentaries and live events, and from my 22 years as the sports presenter on Sunrise to covering 13 Olympic Games and hosting major national moments, I’ve been privileged to share unforgettable stories with Australians. Alongside my on-air work hosting, presenting and commentating, I am pleased to work with clients on media training, communication skills, and public affairs all shaped by my television and Army experience. I also regularly contribute to radio and podcasts, bringing audiences behind the scenes in conversations about sport, leadership and community.

Community
Community, service, and giving back are of enormous importance to me. As a Board Member and rider with Tour de Cure for close to 20 years, I've helped oversee the growth of the charity to today where our community has raised over $160 million for cancer research, prevention, and support programs. I also serve as an Ambassador for:
